The Moon Area School District is located about 13 miles northwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It serves a portion of the West Hills/Airport Area and comprises Crescent and Moon townships, which include unincorporated villages such as Glenwillard, Wireton, Coraopolis Heights, Thorn Hollow, West Coraopolis, Carnot, Thorn Run Valley, and Mooncrest. Moon Area School Distrct encompasses approximately 31 square miles. Starting with the 2015-2016 school year, students on one side of University Boulevard will attend Bon Meade Elementary for Kindergarten to 2nd grade, and Allard for 3rd to 4th grade. Consequently, students on the other side will attend Brooks Elementary for kindergarten to 2nd grade, and McCormick for 3rd to 4th grade.
